March 2016 This book is a collection of projects from different quilt designers which focuses on one of the fundamental quilting units, the triangle. Each project shows how this basic shape can be used to build many completely different quilt designs. The eight projects in this book progressively build in difficulty ranging from confident beginner through the intermediate sewer. The quilt designs are all modern and include very clear illustrations and photographs to explain techniques that may be new to the reader. The book also includes a chapter on quilting basics to help the less experienced quilter. If you are fairly new to basic quilt construction, this would be an ideal book for you as there are both attractive projects to practise what you know and instructions to gain new skills. * Popular Patchwork * This book explores triangles in quilt design. It provides 8 designs to build your skills. Traditional and contemporary designs are suitable for all skill levels. My favourite design by far is the one on the front cover. There are illustrations and pictures throughout the projects, which mean that you feel confident with each step of the quilting process. With each of the projects broken down into easy to follow steps you feel confident whilst making each of them. The designs can be altered to your own colour schemes and choices. Each of the designs may use triangles but with the different sizes and layouts they each look unique. For a new quilter I find this book easy to follow. It's simple instructions help you to make amazing designs. The thing I like about the designs the most is actually the use of the background colour (blank space colour).
