After becoming legally blind with RP (retinitis pigmentosa), Tammy Ruggles began writing when she was forced to retire from her social work job. In 2002 her local newspaper gave her a column of her own, TR s Topics. Since then she has had close to 80 articles, short fiction stories and online children s books published. She has contributed to several online entertainment magazines, including Entertainment Insiders and Rock-n-Reel, and she was host of About.com's weekly ClassicTV Trivia Game. Ruggles, who has a bachelor s degree in social work and a master s in adult ed/counseling, sees that the ending of one career was the beginning of another. She says, "I always wanted to be a social worker, and I always wanted to be a professional writer. People are lucky to have one dream come true. I m fortunate to have had two. " Tammy Ruggles lives in a small town in Kentucky.
