This book is the text of one of those lectures, translated from the German under the auspices of the international Grail Foundation. Dr. Steinpach begins with the work of modern thanatologists, whose researches have resulted in the documentation of numerous "near-death" experiences: all of which bear a remarkable similarity to one another, despite the varied backgrounds of respondents or the differing theories of researchers.
From there, Dr. Steinpach steps out into the unexplored dimensions, applying Natural Law to eternal questions, to show how we continue to develop after death. Basing his conclusions on the spiritual classic, In the Light of Truth: The Grail Message, by Abd-ru-shin, Dr. Steinpach discusses three levels of our being--the material body, the astral body, and the ethereal body or "soul," showing how they interact in life-and how they separate in death.
This wise and inspiring book is a joy to read, with a translation that does justice to the text, rendering from German into English with a grace and clarity that makes the conclusion resonate with all that has gone before:
"I hope I have succeeded in opening your eyes at least to a very small but extremely important section of the vitality of this Creation, and, at the same time, also to the vastness of our existence. Although we began with death we end with life, but with, I hope, a more conscious life."

Max-Planck Institute, Munich "Steinpach takes the basic Laws of Nature, and applies them to the ethereal realm. By doing so, he demystifies the world beyond."
Tom Kay, Dear Amy: Making Sense of the Voyage of the Soul, and When the Comet Runs Accounts of people who had clinically "died" and then been brought back to life are no longer considered fantasy: they have been scientifically proven. However, most writings about life and death have simply reported such accounts and given statistical data. Richard Steinpach's work goes much further: by applying the basic Laws of Nature, he explains how we continue to develop after physical death. Why We Live After Death opens the door to a fuller understanding of the totality of our existence, and makes it possible for readers to answer the eternal question, "What is the meaning of life?" "If we go to the root of the matter, it is our concept of death that decides our answers to all the questions which life poses."
Dag Hammerskjold,
late Secretary-General of the United Nations
