JOHN HILLEN has held prestigious fellowships at institutions such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Aspen Institute, and the Heritage Foundation. In 1999 he was appointed to the study group of the U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century, a bipartisan blue-ribbon federal advisory commission examining the changing security environment in the new century. He lives in the New York City area.
