Synopsis
While Cannons Roared is an intimate picture of the American Civil War on the home front, in the corridors of power - and even in the capital's most prestigious hotel. About the Author
JOHN M. TAYLOR has contributed to a number of popular history magazines including American Heritage, Military History Quarterly, and Civil War Times. He is also the author of William Henry Seward: Lincoln's Right Hand, Confederate Raider: Raphael Semmes of the Alabama, and General Maxwell Taylor: The Sword and the Pen. He lives in McLean, Virginia.
