Synopsis
When scientists develop computer technologies, they focus on making the machine work reliably and efficiently, and human moral values are not often part of the equation. Batya Friedman is Associate Professor of Computer Science at Colby College and is codirector of The Mina Institute. Her areas of specialization include humancomputer interaction and the human relationship to technology.
