Synopsis
In Patricia Petersen’s retelling of this intriguing legend from Mexico, Young Tigre yearns to fly with his uncle and the other Voladores dressed in their beautiful, colorful wings. When the volcano and the rain stir up trouble for the Voladores, bravery takes him on an amazing adventure.
Voladores is the second book of Patricia Petersen’s that features her daughter Sheli’s illustrations. “Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to see my words brought to life by Sheli’s beautiful illustrations,” says Ms. Petersen. “I can think of no one I’d rather work with.”
Sheli Petersen is the recipient of many awards including the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Most Professional Portfolio Presentation Award.

About the Author
Patricia Petersen holds a Master's degree in Composition from Southwest Missouri State University and has a long-standing interest in Hispanic studies and bilingual education. A teacher and scholar, Ms. Petersen has presented several papers at the American Cultural Studies Conference.
