One of my all-time favorite things is teaching someone to use the computer. I taught school for 29 years so it's in my blood - I've gotta' teach! My computer books are an extension of that love of teaching. I can't help everybody individually, but with my books, I can help people I couldn't otherwise reach. PowerPoint Workshop for Teachers is the fifth title in a series of computer tutorials that lead people step-by-step through a program, in this case Microsoft PowerPoint.

Don't worry about your typing skills; many of the activities don't require much typing. You just open a file from the CD-ROM that is included with the book and follow the step-by-step directions. If the pictures on your monitor match the ones in the book, congratulations, you've done it right! If it doesn't look quite right, you can go back a step or two and try it again. In no time at all, you'll be producing professional looking presentations, and having fun doing it!

It's probably easiest to start at the beginning of the book and do the lessons in order. But sometimes you want to jump right in and learn a certain concept. You can do that, too. Five helpful teacher characters give you additional information, remind you to follow directions carefully, and help you fix mistakes. It's easier to learn only a couple of new things at a time, so you'll learn a few new concepts, be reinforced on some ideas taught previously and end up with a project you can use in your classroom. Each lesson takes 15-30 minutes to complete. Before you finish this book you'll be a PowerPoint expert, confident that you can create any presentation you want!
