A book of 25 preschool programs on favorite topics (apples, bears, cats, clouds, dinosaurs, pumpkins, valentines, etc.) for beginning and seasoned storytellers. Each theme offers two finger plays, instructions and patterns for making finger puppets, other resources (including books, music, and poems), creative activities such as crafts and dramatic play, and snack ideas. Print resources for programming, finger plays, poetry, songs, and crafts and a listing of sound recordings complete the book. The patterns are clear and would also work well for flannel boards. Two minor reservations are that no directions are given for the accompanying hand, arm, or body movements and some of the poems set to familiar tunes do not scan precisely, which might make singing them a challenge.
