Reviews
This handy book provides an overview of what to take into account when designing one's home interior. Parikh (The Book of Home Design, LJ 1/96) gives advice on color, lighting, planning, and even moving and packing. The main strength of this book, however, is the section of pages for drawing floor plans, writing in contacts, and pasting in swatches, which unfortunately makes it difficult to recommend for libraries. Libraries needing overall home decorating books would be better served by Sharon Hanby-Robie's My Name Isn't Martha but I Can Decorate My Home (LJ 1/98) or The New Decorating Book (LJ 5/15/97) from Better Homes & Gardens.
