Documents recent advances in computational electromagnetics performed at the University of Illinois, specifically, linear problems associated with Maxwell's equations. The 19 chapters present the multilevel fast multipole algorithm in both the time and frequency domains, as well as developments in fast algorithms for low frequency and specialized structures, such as the planar and layered media. These algorithms solve large electromagnetics problems with shorter turnaround time, using less computer memory. Other topics include perfectly matched layer absorbing boundary conditions, error analysis of surface integral equations, fast forward and inverse solvers for inverse problems, hybridization, and asymptotic waveform evaluation.
