Examines systems engineering as the process that identifies the technical characteristics and operating rules of that system that best achieves the objective in question. This book assists those just beginning in systems engineering to grasp the subject more quickly. Drawing from his 40 years experience at Bell Laboratories in front end systems engineering, the author walks through defining system objectives, proposing system concepts, selecting from technology, and recommending courses of action.
