Reviews

PreSchool-Grade 2-Buzz Bumble enjoys all the attention he receives for being the fastest and most talented bee in the hive. When he hears that the photographer Ansel Antennae is coming to take photos for National Bee-Graphic magazine, he wants to catch the eye of the famous guy. Then cute little Baby Bumble steals the show with her frilly antennae and toddling ways and Buzz feels envious, angry, and unloved. As Ansel is snapping his shutters at Baby, a Venus flytrap snaps her up. Jealousy aside, Buzz zips into action and saves her in the nick of time. Ansel clicks a photo of the twosome for the cover of the magazine and sibling love prevails. Newton's cartoon illustrations are lively with bright, cheerful colors. Each bee has a unique look and personality; for example, Ansel has a goatee. However, the story is affected and overdone, and young listeners will not understand the contrived puns.
