About the Author
Jim Weaver is a former schoolteacher and athletic coach. He received both his B.A. and M.A. from Ohio State University, has a Ph.D. from Lehigh University and is an active member in several alumni associations. Mr. Weaver lives in Columbus, Ohio. 'The Red Wolves' is his first novel.

When Robin Black, a corporate travel planner in Columbus, Ohio, resumes her casual relationship with retired Special Forces Major Jake Webber, she makes it clear to him that she is looking for a deeper commitment this time around. What she does not anticipate is that their rekindled friendship will draw her into an exhilarating adventure that began twenty-five years before in the desert of Yemen.
One night, Robin is a witness when Jake has an ugly confrontation with four mysterious men in a Columbus parking lot. Jake knows that his attackers have come to settle an old score. He confides in Robin and tells her a fantastic story about a daring mission he led during the turbulent years of Yemen's civil war. As part of an American Special Forces team acting under the auspices of the Saudi government, he and three other men smuggled a fortune in gold into Yemen to help finance the Royalist movement. On the fourth and final run, the team was set upon by a ruthless band of outlaw Yemeni rebels who called themselves The Red Wolves. Jake and his comrades lost a vital member of their team in the attack and were forced to abandon the hidden gold.
Now, decades later, the Saudi government wants to recover the gold and is once again soliciting Jake Webber's help. Jake reassembles the remnants of the original team-who all agree that Robin will journey with them to the Middle East and be trained to stand in for their fallen comrade. While preparing for what they hope will be a successful and lucrative salvage operation, Jake and his former associates reestablish their old ties of loyalty and friendship as they hone their combat skills. As he revisits the site of the original mission, Jake Webber will face old adversaries and painful memories one last time, in a life and death struggle that will reveal the mysteries of his own heart.
