About the Author

Online Press was founded in 1987 and has published the Quick Course® series since 1991. The company has extensive experience in all aspects of book publishing, and has also been involved in data preparation for CD-ROM and online services.

The Online Press founders, Salley Oberlin and Joyce Cox, have both worked in computer book publishing for many years. Salley Oberlin has been creating computer books since shortly after computers migrated to the desktop and became personal. She established the editorial department at Sybex Inc. and helped Sybex grow into a leading computer book publishing company. As editorial director and one of the four founding directors of Microsoft Press, she was a major force in putting high-quality computer books on the bookstore shelves. Joyce Cox worked for Sybex as an editor and for Microsoft Press as its first managing editor. She draws on twenty years' experience in writing and editing technical subjects for nontechnical audiences as she guides the development and writing of the books in the Quick Course® series.
