About the Author

Carol Woodbury is Vice President of Product Development and Planning for The PowerTech Group in Kent, Washington. Before joining PowerTech, she served as IBM’s AS/400 Security Architect for more than 10 years. During that time, Carol led the AS/400 Security Development team, designed many aspects of OS/400’s security features, and consulted with numerous AS/400 business partners and customers. Carol speaks frequently on a variety of security topics at conferences and user groups around the world and is a frequent contributor to midrange computing magazines such as NEWS/400.

Wayne Madden is Editor in Chief and Publisher of NEWS/400 magazine and a popular industry speaker. Before becoming publisher, Wayne was a senior technical editor at NEWS/400 for five years, writing more than 1,250 articles about AS/400 and System/3X technologies and products. During that time, Wayne’s industry knowledge and technical expertise established him as one of the most well-respected authors and speakers in the industry. He has worked in the IBM midrange industry for more than 15 years as a programmer, manager, consultant, author, and speaker.
