About the Author

Former biochemist Claire O Neal has published over a dozen books with Mitchell Lane, including A Project Guide to Rocks and Minerals, A Project Guide to Earthquakes, A Project Guide to Volcanoes, Exploring Earth s Biomes, and Projects in Genetics. She holds degrees in English and Biology from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Washington. She lives in Delaware with her husband, two young sons, and a fat black cat.
