About the Author

Jerry Krause is the director of basketball operations for Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He has coached and taught basketball at all levels for over 40 years. The author of 13 books on coaching basketball and over 30 instructional videos, Krause is the chairman of the NABC Research Committee and former chairman of the NCAA Basketball Rules Committee. In 1998, Krause received the prestigious NABC Cliff Wells Appreciation Award for his lifetime contributions to basketball. He was inducted into the NAIA Basketball Hall of Fame in March 2002. He is a member of the National Association for Sports and Physical Education and is in their hall of fame as both a coach and a physical educator.

Ralph Pim is an assistant professor in the department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He serves as the director of instructional administration and is a basketball sport educator.

Pim has coached and taught basketball at the secondary and collegiate levels for thirty years. As a collegiate head coach, Pim built Alma (MI) College and Limestone (SC) College into highly successful programs. He also coaches at Central Michigan, William and Mary, Northwestern Louisiana, and Baberton High School (OH), which won the Ohio State Championship and was selected the seventh best team in the country under Pim.
