Alan M. Dershowitz is a professor at Harvard Law School and a noted appellate lawyer and columnist. He has represented such clients as Claus von Bülow, O. J. Simpson, Anatoly Shcharansky, Michael Milken, Mia Farrow, and Mike Tyson. He lectures widely on legal and religious issues, appears frequently on television and radio, and is the author of the number one bestseller Chutzpah, as well as Supreme Injustice, Reversal of Fortune, The Abuse Excuse, Just Revenge, The Genesis of Justice, The Advocate's Devil, and Reasonable Doubts: The Criminal Justice System and the O. J. Simpson Case.
Alan Dershowitz, world-famous criminal defense attorney and Harvard Law School professor, is also knowledgeable about Judaism through study and practice. Combining all the elements of his background, he examines 10 stories from the Book of Genesis and shows how they later were codified in the Ten Commandments and elsewhere in the Old Testament, as well as in the Torah and Koran. His discussion culminates in an analysis of how these ideas have shaped modern moral and legal thought. The book grew out of a law school seminar he taught, and Dershowitz's reading is like listening to a good college lecturer. He is animated, yet clear. When the material is particularly complex, he slows down and rephrases key points to enhance understanding. R.C.G. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine
