Reviews

Based upon their rich professional experiences and commitment to working collaboratively to teach writing and research, the authors have produced a K–12 resource that will get folks working together to create better writers. They begin by describing current research on how to teach writing, defining the steps in the process while discussing the major approaches to teaching writing, and providing information on how the media specialist can fit into the process. They finish with a chapter on student assessment. Special features include sample collaborative lessons, a short bibliography (often with a list of literature connections) at the end of each chapter, and reproducible forms and posters. This book could be quite helpful to newcomers to the collaborative process and would provide a good foundation for those who do in-service in their buildings or whose buildings have a book reading group.
