About the Author
Susan Conant is a three-time recipient of the Maxwell Award for Fiction Writing given by the Dog Writers' Association of America. She lives with her husband, two cats, and two Alaskan malamutes.

Conant's Dog Lover's series is aptly named; those who are not crazy for canines may not fully enjoy stories that use such phrases as "on the other paw." For the unabashed fido fancier, however, these tales are tastier than liver treats. Writer Holly Winter, author of a regular column in Dog's Life magazine and a new book called 101 Ways to Cook Liver, is a protagonist who puts her pets above anything and everyone else--even her veterinarian fiance, Steve Delaney. Luckily, Steve is almost as nuts about dogs as she is and has three of his own. Before they can become a five-dog family, however, Holly must figure out why several women, all with some connection to her, have been violently murdered in the greater Boston area. With much support from her two Alaskan malamutes, Holly investigates the crimes and tries to keep herself out of harm's way. Though a tail-wagger more than a page-turner, the story undoubtedly will teach readers something new about their canine companions. Jenny McLarin
