About the Author
Gerry Volgenau, a former Coloradan, came to love the Great Lakes during his 27 years working for the Detroit Free Press. He was a local reporter, the newspaper's first science editor, Canada correspondent based in Toronto for almost four years, roving national correspondent, and an editor of national and foreign news. Gerry became best known during his almost eight years as the travel writer, a job that took him all over the world and happily very often to the Great Lakes.
