Lynch talks about the sounds each instrument makes how particular instruments make music ("when you press a key, air is forced into a pipe and vibrates to make a sound"), and the joy of listening and of playing alone or together. The back sections include a detailed glossary, a bibliography, and a few basic questions to think about. In music classes and for personal interest, young players and listeners will feel the excitement and the connection.
