Synopsis

The LUCIS model uses the ArcGIS geoprocessing framework to analyze suitability and preference for major land-use categories, determine potential future conflict among the categories, and build future land-use scenarios. Case study data and the LUCIS geoprocessing models are provided on a supplemental DVD.

About the Author
Margaret H. Carr is a professor in the University of Florida Department of Landscape Architecture. Her areas of interest include park and regional conservation design and regional land-use planning and analysis. Paul D. Zwick is chair and professor in the University of Florida Department of Urban and Regional Planning. His key area of interest is the application of GIS technology to planning and land-use problems.
