From the Inside Flap:

From B's bagpipes with sweet melodies to W's William Wallace, the hero who defeated the English at Stirling Bridge, Scottish Alphabet relives Scottish history and celebrates the unique way of life in stunning rhyme and imagery. With important figures like Mary, Queen of Scots, this book captures the rich heritage of Scotland and teaches children about important aspects of Scottish tradition and geography.
K stands for the kilt, a skirt worn by Scottish clansmen. Each clan has its own distinct tartan, a checkered pattern of many beautiful colors. N represents Nessie, Scotland's legendary monster in Loch Ness, and T stands for thistle, the country's purple-blossomed national flower that symbolizes nobility.
Included is a glossary and pronunciation key of important Scottish words, such as ceilidh, a fun gathering where people sing, dance, and tell stories, and sporran, a fur or leather pouch worn from the belt of a kilt.
