Karyn W. Tunks is an associate professor at the University of South Alabama, where she earned both a BS and an MEd in early childhood education. Tunks later obtained a PhD from Florida State University, also in education. She teaches courses in adolescent and children's literature and on motivating and teaching writing in the elementary classroom. Dr. Tunks lives in Fairhope, Alabama, with her family.
In addition to illustrating, Julie Dupr� Buckner paints portraits and teaches art classes. She earned a BFA from Louisiana Tech University and is a member of the Portrait Society of America and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Buckner also illustrated Pelican's Clovis Crawfish and Echo Gecko, Clovis Crawfish and Silvie Sulphur, and Clovis Crawfish and the Twin Sister. She resides in Plaquemine, Louisiana.
KARYN W. TUNKS received her PhD in early childhood education from the University of South Alabama. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English and the Alabama Association for Young Children.
A member of the Portrait Society of America, Julie Dupré Buckner received a BFA from Louisiana Tech University. She also illustrated Pelicanés Army Camels: Texas Ships of the Desert, Jubilee!, Clovis Crawfish and Echo Gecko, Clovis Crawfish and Silvie Sulphur, and Clovis Crawfish and the Twin Sister. She lives in Plaquemine, Louisiana, and teaches an abstract expressionist painting class for beginners.
