About the Author

Herman Groman is a retired FBI Special Agent, and currently the Director of Security at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Herman also has a small ranch that he and his wife are developing in Esmeralda County Nevada. It's near the Lida Pass, and has a very interesting history.

The ranch is called Pigeon Spring, and has an old gold stamp mill and a grave on the property. Pigeon Spring is one of the original sites for the Native American Ghost Dance. It was a summer camp for the Timbisha branch of the Desert Shoshone Tribe, and the place is loaded with Indian artifacts just for the finding.

The story basically parallels my wife's and my life, as a former FBI Agent and Las Vegas Casino Security Director, as well as life on the ranch. It is filled with a number of small dramas, as well as the discovery of a federally protected witness, who happens to be an international scam artist and is operating in Tonopah, Nevada, right under the collective noses of the Government's Witness Protection Program.
