About the Author:
Carter Swart began writing in 1979, prompted by nearly three years of idleness resulting from a 1976 bout with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a disease that left him a lifetime paraplegic. Nevertheless, he returned to his career in the banking industry in 1980 and for the next ten years concentrated on fulfilling his career goals. After thirty-three years with the Bank of America, he took early retirement in March 1989. To date he has published over one hundred and fifty magazine articles and fictional stories in such magazines as Mike Shayne Mystery Magazine, Hardboiled, P.I. Magazine, White Knuckles, Blood Review, and Into the Darkness. His credits span the spectrum from thoroughbred racing historicals, to business journals, and to mainstream, mystery, horror, and fantasy short stories. Carter is the author of the mystery series featuring ex-LAPD cop, Lou Corso that includes Deceived by Death, Insufficient Evidence, The End Game, April Evil, Old Sins, Lethal Purpose, Hunting Evil, Murderville and the latest, Double Trouble. In addition to mysteries, Carter has authored three westerns, Bitter Creek, The Dunnigans, and his most recent, Nightingale.
