About the Author

Dr. Vollertsen is one of only three individuals known to accomplish both master's and doctoral research on Montana's Rocky Mountain Front. He is a recipient of the Montana Wilderness Association s coveted Sedlack Award for his work on the Rocky Mountain Front. Semi-retired and staying busy, he is an adjunct instructor for Montana State University-Bozeman and teaches an online graduate course in American Indian Studies. He resides in Helena, Montana.
