Carolyn Merriman has extensive experience in sales and marketing management derived from her work in government, insurance, non-profit management, and through hospital-based occupational health sales, service-line enhancement and sales training. Carolyn, along with her team, is recognized for a tactical, "hands on" approach to assisting hospitals in the implementation of outcome-oriented strategies.
Carolyn has served as faculty and presenter for several healthcare societies and associations such as ACHE, AHA-SHSMD, The Forum, Physician Referral and Health Information, AHA-ASHHRA and Ryan-NAOHP. She has been a contributing author for several healthcare newsletters and journals, has developed sales and teleservices workshops and served as keynote speaker for national seminars. Carolyn is co-author of A Comprehensive Guide to Occupational Health Sales and Marketing and a contributing author to The Business of Medical Practice. She currently is serving a three-year term as board member for the American Hospital Association Society for Healthcare Strategy and Marketing.
Kriss Barlow has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare. This includes a strong clinical framework complemented with physician strategy, marketing and network development success. Working in management and program development, she was able to bring several successful programs into the market for the hospitals and companies she served. Kriss’s entire career has focused on physician relations, medical staff development and consensus building with the medical community. Positions of note include Corporate Director of Planning and Network Development for a multi-hospital system and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a national physician information company.
Kriss holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Augustana College and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is a faculty member for the National Institute of Physician Recruitment and Retention and a national speaker for The American Hospital Association’s Society, the Forum for Healthcare Strategists, HFMA and ACHE. Kriss is a contributing author to The Business of Medical Practice, a certified sales instructor with Learning International and serves on the Board of Directors for the National Medical Staff Certification program.
