About the Author:
DAN AADLAND (standing with Pride, grandson of the "Stud Colt") holds a Ph.D. in American Studies and has been a Marine officer, as well as a teacher. He has written about horses and ranch life for Equus and Western Horseman. He is also the author of Horseback Adventures, Treading Lightly with Pack Animals, and Women and Warriors of the Plains.
Artist NIK CARPENTER is a Montana native. He specializes in drawing and painting Montana's ranch culture and its wildlife.
