We've used three English language translations of the Kama Sutra in preparing this guide--by Richard Burton, Indra Sinha, and Alain Daniélou. When we quote from the text we most often use the Burton translation, of which there are many versions, so we simply refer to the section of the book and the chapter where the quote came from, like this (II-1), which means Part Two, Chapter 1. When we quote the other versions we give author name, section, chapter, and page number, like this (Daniélou II-1, p.99).
