About the Author

Tom James is an attorney who has been practicing family law for eight years. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and completed his postgraduate studies at Southwestern University School of Law and Hamline University. A long-time advocate of gender equality, he served as co-counsel on the class action lawsuit to declare the Minnesota Battered Women's Act unconstitutional. He currently resides in rural Minnesota with his wife and two children.
