I have been a lover of fire department–related books since I was a little kid. My parents told me that I had really little focus on anything else. My school grades always proved that. My firefighting interest has been there ever since I can remember, and it’s true―I have very little interest in much else. My focus has always been narrow and limited to being a firefighter, related friends, a drummer, and (longer term) being a dad (and who knew, being a Poppie would become part of it). That was pretty much it...
