Maitena is a syndicated cartoonist and author of two bestselling series of comics, "Striving Women" (Superadas) and "Women on the Edge" (Mujeres Alteradas). She is currently working on a third comic strip series entitled "Curvas Peligrosas," or "Dangerous Curves," which appears weekly in El País (Madrid) and La Nación (Buenos Aires). Her cartoons are also found in newspapers in Italy, France, Portugal, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Nicaragua, and Puerto Rico, and in a host of international magazines. Maitena splits her time between Buenos Aires and a small seaside village in Uruguay.
