In Case 6 of Rylant's popular series, "Detectives" Bunny Brown and Jack Jones must help Melvin, the superstitious bus driver, discover who's taken his lucky dice, or he won't do his bus route. Narrator William Dufris depicts with humor the way the two--fueled by chips and cheese dip--collect clues and unravel the mystery. Dufris's pace is new-reader friendly, allowing children ample time to follow the words and look at the illustrations. Listeners, especially junior private investigators, will enjoy the detective music between chapters and incidental sound effects (such as the crunching of chips) included in this production.
