From the Inside Flap

Beyond Sandy Ridge is the sequel to my "Carolina Rain" and is especially dear to me. Writing this book was a true labor of love. It was an honor to have researched my ancestors and the events that formed their lives. Although, I discovered much about the past, it was also a discovery of self.
Some of the characters, events, and places in "Beyond Sandy Ridge" are fiction, but the emotions are real. The people of Stanly County, North Carolina were passionate about their families, their beliefs and the land they called home.
As you open the first page, you will find yourself in Stanly County, NC the year 1864. With the threat of the Union army approaching, Lizzie is forced to leave her home in Charleston, SC.
Her young heart is scarred, but she is determined to make a new life for herself and her child. Will she find the love she lost or will the last thimble of hope be lost with the war?
