Synopsis
A novel based on real-life adventures, Grunt Air tells the story of an elite Air Force helicopter unit used for the secret rescue of American pilots shot down during the Vietnam War. The author, a decorated Vietnam veteran, returned to Vietnam to interview notable combat leaders, including General Nguyen Vo Gap, as part of the research that brings to light a clandestine operation that saved many U.S. lives.

Since I have been there, done that and got the T-shirt, as a Vietnam Vet, I can tell you that Grunt Air nails it. The book not only tells the story of those poor POWs being abused it tells about the terrible time our own government gave the wives and families of the POWs. Grunt Air shows the dedication and valor of our special U. S. Army Personnel as well as the partisan garbage they had to put up with and overcome to accomplish their mission. I have worked Special Ops over Laos and Grunt Air gives a clear picture of the difficulties operating in the highly clandestine and lethal environment of Laos 1971-1972.
