About the Author
Dr. Peter Barnes is senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Boulder, Colorado. An Atlanta native with degrees from the University of Georgia, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Fuller Seminary, he has also served churches in Georgia, Washington D.C., and Dallas. He and his family have been in Boulder since 1992. Dr. Mark Strauss is a professor at Bethel Seminary s San Diego campus. He is the author of Distorting Scripture? The Challenge of Bible Translation and Gender Accuracy; The Essential Bible Companion; and Four Portraits, One Jesus: An Introduction to Jesus and the Gospels. He is presently revising the commentary on Mark s gospel for the Expositor s Bible Commentary.
