As the years go by, we find there are many people we cannott forget. Some were just passing fancies and exist only as wispy wraiths in the dark corners of our minds, but others... others left footprints on our hearts and will never be forgotten. These poems and essays come from where memory lingers, from those times when reality was not where we wanted to be and each person finds his own escape route. So raise your glass and join me... Here s a toast to yesterday, the past, for all it was, or might have been. Lets raise a toast to memory, good times, bad times, old lovers, and friends.

About the Author
Ruth Nott was born a long, long time ago and prefers to be seen in this book as she once was, when life was beautiful, love was new, and youth, in all its innocence. still reigned, untouched by life s complexities. A Floridian by birth, a free spirit at heart, Ruth resides once again in her home state in retirement. She has been writing poetry for many years, and her work has been used in several small press publications, Quilt World magazine, Poetry Canada, and in anthologies of the International Library of Poetry. Ruth most enjoys rhyming poetry, but occasionally writes a few Haiku and free verse lines. Her work is often spiritual, romantic, or occasionally amusing. Ruth enjoys quilting, making teddy bears, and is a member of the Suwannee River Poets of Chiefland, Florida and the Sunshine Poets of Crystal River, Florida. Seven of her poems appear in a chapbook called Verse-atility self-published in 2003 by the Chiefland, Florida Poets Group. In January 2005 Ruth self-published her first book of Christian poetry, A Pure and Simple Faith , and assisted her family in publishing an anthology using their combined talents in Family Matters . In January 2007 Ruth self-published three new books of poetry, Crazy Patch, Haiku for Lovers, and Where Memory Lingers.
