About the Author:

Deirdre A. Gaquin has been a data use consultant to private organizations, government agencies, and universities for over 25 years. Prior to that, she was Director of Data Access Services at Data Use & Access Laboratories, a pioneer in private sector distribution of federal statistical data. A former President of the Association of Public Data Users, Ms. Gaquin has served on numerous boards, panels, and task forces concerned with federal statistical data and has worked on four decennial censuses. She holds a Master of Urban Planning (MUP) degree from Hunter College. Ms. Gaquin is also an editor of Bernan Press's Congressional District Atlas; The Who, What, and Where of America: Understanding the American Community Survey; Places, Towns and Townships; and County and City Extra.

Sarah E. Baltic, associate editor with Bernan Press, received her bachelor's degree in magazine journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and is a former magazine editor with Voice of Youth Advocates. Additionally, Ms. Baltic has worked in the publications field as a book acquisitions editor and a freelance magazine writer and editor. She has edited The United States Government Internet Manual and and assisted with the Social Security Handbook (Large Print Edition) and County and City Extra; all published by Bernan Press.
