Ricardo Gudwin received his Undergraduate, Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Electical and Computer Engineering (FEEC), State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Currently, his research includes the study of intelligence and intelligent systems, semiotics and computational semiotics. Gudwin serves as an Associate Professor at the FEEC-UNICAMP, the head of the Computational Semiotics Group, and a member of the editorial board of the Online Journal for Semiotics, Evolution Energy Development. Joao Queiroz attains a Ph.D. in Communication and Semiotics and is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Computer Engineering and Industrial Automation at FEEC-UNICAMP. His current research is on the theoretical-formal conditions for the modeling of meaning processes in biological and artificial systems.
