A light story about a weird cat named Margo, who may or may not be from around here. She is definitely a one of a kind sort. She is independent and self sufficient. She does what she pleases, but doesn't interfere with others. (orders will be signed by author)

Gary Scharrer Express-News Austin bureau AUSTIN Veteran state lawmaker Joe Pickett has become a children's book author with a vibrantly illustrated story about "Margo! The Weird Cat!; Pickett's 12 years in the Legislature have exposed him to lots of weird cats in the Capitol, so why not write a book about one, reasoned Pickett's Austin roommate and fellow House member, Rep. Burt Solomons, R-Carrollton. He's got a young daughter, and he's got a variety of interests, so it doesn't surprise me that he wrote it, Solomons said. But you just don't think of people doing that. --Austin American Statesman
"Margo is really one cool cat! My first cat was orange and reading about Margo's escapades revived joyous memories of my early teen years. Children of all ages will enjoy this character." Susan D. Ross --Charity reading sponsor
Margo! The Weird Cat is a wonderful story about a special cat. Children will relate to this creative cat who enjoys the world for all its possibility. The colorful drawings which illustrate this tale are stunning, allowing the reader to feel as if she could walk right into the picture. This story works well as a read aloud because the audience can chant along with the reader throughout the book, "No question about that, she's a weird cat!"
