About the Author

Dennis Hockerman is a freelance designer/illustrator who has worked in the children's book trade and educational markets, as well as in the toy and game industry. His books include A Rose for Abby, The Molehill Mystery series, Cry Bunny, Little Pig's Birthday, Little Duck Finds a Friend, and a series of 24 Christopher Churchmouse books.

Johnathan London is a poet and the award-winning author of more than 30 books for children, including the popular Froggy series (which started as Froggy Gets Dressed), Hip Cat (a Reading Rainbow feature), and The Eyes of Gray Wolf (winner of the American Bookseller's for Children award).

Doug Cushman started illustrating books when he was eight years old. Some of his books include Aunt Eater Loves a Mystery (a Reading Rainbow feature), Aunt Eater's Mystery Christmas, Camp Big Paw, ABC Mystery (an American Library Association Pick of the List), Halloween Mice, Mouse and Mole and the All-Weather Train Ride, and The Mystery of King Karfu (which received a starred review from the School Library Journal). For book illustration he has won a Reuben Award, sponsored by the National Cartoonist's Society.

Leslie McGuire is a writer/illustrator with more than 200 published childrenÂ’s books. Some of her personal favorites include Brush Your Teeth! (a pop-up book with sharks that actually floss); Big DanÂ’s Moving Van (winner of a ParentsÂ’ Choice Award); Good Night, Little Bear (an American BooksellerÂ’s Association Pick of the List and a Time-Life kids selection); Baby Night Owl; and This Farm is a Mess.

Steve Haefele is a regular contributor to such magazines as ReaderÂ’s Digest, Field & Stream, and Golf Illustrated. His books for children include Animal Songs with Super Sound, The Bear Went Over the Mountain, Rocky the Mountaineer, Where Does This Come From?, and The Lazy Donkey. He has received the Humor Award from the Society of Illustrators.

Ron Lipking has illustrated more than a dozen books for children, including Old-Fashioned Christmas (a pop-up carousel book); Silent Night, Jingle Bells, and Deck the Halls (all pop-up books of songs); and Disney FunworksÂ’ The Wacky Farm series. He has also illustrated for Spider, Cricket, and Sesame Street magazines.

Mitchell Rose is a childrenÂ’s book illustrator whose works include Norman, The Great Catsby, To Grill a Mockingbird, and Baseball Fever.
