Review

Last month, Kitchen Stitches was published, a lovely book full of quick and easy projects that you can make for your kitchen... I think the best reason to have this book would not be to spruce up your own kitchen (although it is certainly lovely for that!), but to have on hand for gift-giving, because I can see just about any one of these projects being a great gift for a friend or family member at any number of holidays, for a party or dinner you've been invited to, etc.! There are 17 projects in the book...written by some of your favorite bloggers... So pick up Kitchen Stitches, it's a lovely book! I think these are projects that anyone can do!
--Review from Sara Lawson, Sew Sweetness Blog, February 2014

Karen M. Burns has gathered some of the freshest kitchen designs from designers such as Natalie Barnes, Lindsay Conner, Melissa Corry, Jenifer Dick, Amy Ellis, Linda Turner Griepentrog, Kim Niedzwiecki, Kari Ramsay, Missy Shepler, Rebecca Silbaugh, Amy Stuckmeyer, Heather Valentine and Jackie White. There are 17 projects presented in the book. The beautiful photos and illustrations will inspire you to want to make several projects from this book. The designs have clean lines, bright colors and are also most practical. They cover everything from aprons to table runners, towel sets, casserole covers, place mats and more. Any one of these projects will give your kitchen a lift and all would make perfect gifts for bridal showers, housewarmings and hostess gifts. --The Applique Society Newsletter, March/April 2014

This collection of projects, all based around the kitchen, is ideal for those looking to produce quilting and sewing designs which are practical as well as attractive. Featured are cooking aids such as towels, aprons and dish cosies, table adornments like tablecloths, napkins and placemats, and paraphernalia including a message board, wine glass charms and even a surprisingly useful coupon keeper. We particularly like the brightly patterned pan holder. Despite the projects being sourced from different designers and using a variety of techniques, including quilting, appliqué and embroidery, there's an excellent continuity of style. Here simplicity is the key, but the designs are no less striking and attractive for that. The book provides some brilliant ideas for enthusiasts looking to brighten up their kitchen, or for those who would like inspiration for gifts and sales-table items. --Popular Patchwork, May 2014
