Stained glass is a monumental art, a corporate enterprise dependent on a patron with whom artists blend their voices. Virginia Chieffo Raguin is distinguished professor of humanities at the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts. She is a member of the International Corpus Vitrearum and has published widely on stained glass, architecture, and religious topics.
