Synopsis
Parables appear to be simple stories, but if we are to understand more fully the gospel of Jesus Christ, it is essential that we understand the principles the Savior taught in his parables. This volume examines thirty of Jesus parables, reminding us that these vignettes are packed with spiritual truths and a density of meaning that is not always readily discernible. Drawing upon latter-day scriptures, teachings of modern prophets and apostles, and insights from other biblical scholars, the authors provide helpful commentaries about the content and layered meaning of these well-loved stories. They also discuss how we can apply each parable to our own lives.

About the Author
Jay A. Parry is a popular speaker and author of more than thirty books, including Understanding Isaiah and Symbols and Shadows: Unlocking a Deeper Understanding of the Atonement. He and his wife, Vicki, are the parents of seven children. Donald W. Parry, professor of Hebrew Bible Studies at Brigham Young University, speaks widely and has written a number of books and articles on the Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls. He and his wife, Camille, have six children.
