The harsh reality is that our western perceptions of Africa have been tainted by many things as we tend to view this continent as, mystical, dark, complex, traumatized, and even violent. Perhaps it is time to take a fresh look at our existing stereotypes, to examine what God has done and is now doing in Africa, in order to see what we in the West might learn from the fastest growing church in the world.

Archbishop Emmanuel M. Kolini (ret.) attended Bishop Tucker College in Mukono, Uganda, currently known as Uganda Christian University. He also served as a primary teacher and headmaster in some of the refugee schools in Bunyoro-Uganda. Kolini was appointed Assistant Bishop of Bukavu in Congo and then served as a full Bishop in the southeastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He received a degree in theology at Virginia Theological Seminary in the U.S. Emmanuel Kolini served as Archbishop of Rwanda as well as Bishop of Kigali Diocese from 1997-2010.
