About the Author

Rich Hargitt has been a football coach since 1999. He has served as a head football coach and offensive coordinator at the high school level in Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina. He has been published numerous times in coaching journals and has spoken at both the Nike Coach of the Year Clinics and the Glazier Clinics. He is currently the assistant head football coach and offensive coordinator at Eastside High School in South Carolina.

Joel Penner has 16 years of college football coaching experience to his credit. He is currently the head coach at Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA. Penner began his coaching career at Pacific Lutheran University, where he served as the assistant recruiting coordinator under longtime coach and College Football Hall of Famer Frosty Westering. He then worked as an assistant coach at Trinity International for four years in a variety of roles, including defensive backs coach, running backs and receivers coach, and passing coordinator. In 2005, Penner became the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach on Eric Hehman s staff at NCAA D-III Greenville College. In 2009, Penner joined the Northwestern College staff in Orange City, IA, as offensive coordinator. His next coaching stop was as offensive coordinator at Malone University in Canton, OH, where he again worked with Hehman.
