At the end of each book, the author retells a myth or story about that kind of animal. In Camels, it is a brief version of a Rudyard Kipling short story from Just So Stories. The books’ overall content occasionally feels a bit thin, with generic cultural material (for example, about whale watching) taking up space that might have been used for more substantive animal facts.
